GILA FILM SCHOOL CENTENNIAL MATINEE

Thirteen talented NMSU students from diverse backgrounds (primarily Latinx) were selected to take part in this immersive two-semester program. In July 2022, the group spent eleven days in a field school in the Gila, making short documentaries about people living and working in the Gila Wilderness. Their films will tell stories that reflect the unique natural, cultural and conservation history of the Gila, including indigenous and Latino history. No reservations required – seating is first come first served.
